Data Factory PowerShell deployment: West Europe not available RRS feed

  • Hi team,

    When will the western europe region become available again for powershell deployments for ADF? At the moment I am getting this error.

    Error Message: The provided location 'West Europe' is not available for resource type 'Microsoft.DataFactory/dataFactories'. List of available regions 
    for the resource type is 'westus,northeurope,eastus,westcentralus'.
    # Create Azure Data Factory if it doesn't already exist
    if( -not ( Get-AzDataFactoryV2 -Name $datafactoryName -ResourceGroupName $resourceGroupName))
    {
        New-AzDataFactory -Name $datafactoryName -ResourceGroupName $resourceGroupName -Location $location
    }
    else
    {
        Write-Output "XXXX"
    }

  • Hello,

    I would suggest you use Set-AzDataFactoryV2 cmdlet to create Azure Data Factory Version V2 in “West Europe” region.

    Azure Data Factory Version1:

    New-AzDataFactory cmdlet creates a data factory (V1 version) with the specified resource group name and location.

    Note: Where Azure Data Factory Version V1 is available in these regions [East US, North Europe, West US, West Central US]. That’s the reason you are experiencing this error message.

    Azure Data Factory Version2:

    Set-AzDataFactoryV2 cmdlet creates a data factory with the specified resource group name and location.
