80004005 error on a brand new project. What do I do? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I am just learning VB.Net and am following some simple instructions.

At the moment all I have done is created a new VB forms project and added a Picturebox control.

Within the properties window I get an error every time I try to associate an image (every time I use the Image drop-down menu from the appearance section of the properties window.):

Unspecified Error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))

    I am running VS 2010 RC1 under W7.

Any suggestions as to what to do next, or where to look for help would be much appreciated. I have tried googling the result but the hits that bought back seemed to suggest coding errors when connecting to databases etc. ... I have not got that far yet!

  • Dear Folbo,

Please upgrade to the RTM version of Visual Studio 2010.

Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
