  • Question

  • Why can't I ask for the value of

    Properties.

    Settings.Default.stopBits

    in the Immidiate window ?

When I do - it returns:

System.Windows.Forms.PropertyStore' does not contain a definition for 'Settings' and no extension method 'Settings' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Windows.Forms.PropertyStore' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

    WHY ???????????

Answers

  • In the immediate window, give the full path of Settings class. For example, if Settings class inside the namespace A then, in immediate window, write it as A.Settings.Default.stopBits

  • Ksor,

Why are you asking this in nothing to Windows Forms presentation layer related questions in this forum while there are for this questions at least two better ones.

However, as the C# language forum is not so much populated I would take the General one.

  • I don't think it's easy to find out witch forum to use - and asking i the forum for "asking where" mostly gives no answer
