deploying .Net framework with setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    VS 2008 SP1

I have developed an application. The user doesn't want to download the .Net framework. But want it included with my setup.exe.

My application is developed using .Net SP1.

How can I package the .Net framework with my setup.exe. So the user just needs to double click the setup.exe and everything will be installed?

How big is the .Net framework 3.5 SP1?

    Many thanks for any suggestions,

    Hi steve1_rm,

You can easily achieve this in Visual Studio. In the "Prerequisites" dialog, Select the "Download prerequisites from the same location as my application" radiobutton. So you can package the .Net Framework and other prerequisites along with your MSI.

As for the size of .Net Framework, it should include version 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and service package.
    .NET Framework 3.5 Redist: 197.0MB

    Sincerely,
    Kira Qian
