  • What kind of icon it is? Is it a web part or left navigation?

If it is web part, then you edit page > navigate to web part properties>Advanced >Target Audiences

In Target Audiences you can select a group of the user who can see this particular web part. So based on permission you can handle to show or hide web part and it's functionality.</label>

And If it is left navigation then navigate to site settings > Look and Feel > Navigation > under navigation there is a section called "Structural Navigation: Editing and Sorting", here you can see multiple links. To show any particular link with any group, you can edit that link and set Audience for same.

  • Hi Nhlanhla,

How did you add the links into the page?

You can use a list to store the links and set different permissions on item level. Then add the list web part into the home page. If a user doesn't have permissions on an item, he/she will not see the item.

Also, for a page, if a user doesn't have permissions on it, she/he also will not see the page. So you can grant different users different permissions on pages.

If I have misunderstood your meaning, please feel free to reply.

    Thanks,

    Wendy

  • Hi Kuldeep ,

I have same question. I use in quick link web parts in modern UI but there are no target audience setting.
I attached image below. I want to grant permission to each icon links. If User A has no permission to red triangle icon, then it should doesn't appear to User A. Only 4 icon will appear to User A.

This is very useful for when we use hub site in large organization structure.

Hope your kind attention to this matter.

    Thanks & regards
