Kill running processes during Uninstall step of Custom Action

  • The program that I install has multiple executable, and some of them run in the background. I want to kill those processes before the uninstall process begins, so that the uninstall process is smooth.

To achieve this, in the uninstall step I kill all the relevant running processes. This works fine on Windows XP, however when I uninstall on Windows 7, I get a pop-up asking if the user wants to terminate the specific processes (the background processes that I talked about).

Is there a way to avoid it?
