What is mean by resolution 1024 x 768 pixels in windows application?

  • Hi all,

I was asked by somebody to set screen resoultion 1024 x 768 pixels. But I was failure to understand exactly what they need. I think they are talking about the screen width and height. But I don't know that my thinking is correct.

So, anyone can help me to understand what is that..

  • Resolution is the number of pixels on your screen.  You change it by going into Control Panel + Display, Settings tab.  You might not be able to select 1024x768 if your monitor doesn't support it.

You should always consider what your form might look like when somebody tries to use it on a monitor that isn't as fancy as yours.  They can only make your form larger, not smaller.  Technically, you should design forms to fit on a 800x600 screen but these days, that's pretty crummy hardware.  However, 1024x768 is something you should support.
