  • Hi BPlatyPus,

"ClickOnce" simply uses a MIME type for activation, which is configured by the .NET Framework 2.0 setup, This allows a "ClickOnce" app to be launched by any client that uses standard Windows URL activation. This includes Internet Explorer, Outlook, Outlook Express & MSN Explorer. However, other 3rd party browser clients do not work with "ClickOnce".

We are happily deploying using ClickOnce to customers using IE, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. All of them work. This problem was fixed in VS2008.

If you are using VS2005, there is a plug-in for Firefox that users can install that will enable the ClickOnce functionality to work. For Safari and Opera you are s.o.l. unless you upgrade your Visual Studio version.

So to the OP: What versionn of Visual Studio are you using?

    Hi Robin,

We recently upgraded to VS 2008 but Safari (latest version 3.1.2) and Opera (latest version 9.51) still does not work.  Firefox works natively now (without the add-in which was required w/VS 2005).  Was there anything special you need to do to get this working with these browsers?  We are using online installations w/ClickOnce.

    Thanks

  • Hi! thx for answer!

Are you passing arguments to your clickonce application??

We can pass args if the xxx.application is launched, but if the client does not have one of the requirement (i.e. .net framework 3.5), the args won't be passed to application isn't it?

    Thx for help!

It just worked for us with no problems, but our application runs both online and offline. If you change your app to run offline, does the installation work with those browsers? Maybe they don't if the app is online-only.
