How to make rich UI design in Form and controls for windows C#.net application RRS feed

  • I am developing windows C#.net application.

    My client asked to do the rich UI design in every controls and forms.

    But, In microsoft win form will have very limited design.

    Do we have any other open source UI design dll..?

    pls. let us know..

    Several options (and its dependent on exactly what you want)

    Find a free third party library such as this one or this one.

    Roll your own, plan to write a good deal of code and why when there are libraries out there.

    Find a paid for library such as this one.

    Truly the best option is to move to WPF which has a learning curve but well worth time invested as there are other benefits besides a rich user interface.

  • Winforms is for LOB apps. If you need fancy UIs or theming then you won't want to use it. Look at Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) or UWP instead. Both are far more flexible but require a significantly higher learning curve.
