xml escape sequence emoji characters RRS feed

  • Question

  • User pastes some text containing emojis like "Hi 🙂".

I need to send this as part of utf 8 xml to a web service.

How to find and replace emoji characters with their escape sequences. Sending XmlWriter utf-8 encoding resulted text is giving error.

    Thank you.

  • Hi sbprasadrao,

To handle the issue, you should convert emoticons to its Unicode.

Here I find some similar issues that you can refer to.

[How to convert emoticons to its UTF-32/escaped unicode?].

[How can I put a 💙, or any other emoji inside an XML string?].

About escape sequences, you can find in this document.
