Connecting USB printer to Embedded XP RRS feed

  • In some of our sytems with windows xp embedded OS, when we connect a receipt printer (Wincor th230) it automatically not recocnizing that a new USB device is attached.Also virtual port is not automatically creating.How can I update usb driver files,or where can i download required drivers so that system will automatically detect new device?

  • It depends on what is in the XP Embedded OS. If you have added printing support and some base drivers, it is possible. If there is a critical component(s) missing it becomes a challenge. You would have to include everything in the missing component(s) first before install the device driver. Rebuilding the image from Target Designer with the right components is simpler.

  • Did you build the OS for the system? Or is this a thin client you purchased? If thin client, you should contact the manufacture to add support for your printer.
