Requesting Help with Custom Dialogue (checkboxes) and Conditions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I am working on a VS Setup Project, and I am trying to put a condition on a folder during my install.  I have created a custom checkbox dialogue box.  The idea is if the user checks the box, then I install a certain folder; however, if the user does not check the box then I don't install a certain folder.  The Property for my checkbox is CHECKBOXA1.  In the properties window for my conditional folder I put the following in the Condition Property:

    CHECKBOXA1=1

    It doesn't matter whether or not the checkbox is checked....my installer always installs the conditional folder.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks!

    Eric

  • Setting a condition on a folder doesn't work that way. For what you need you can try this:

    • select all files in your folder
    • in their Properties pane set the condition you want
    • rebuild your project

    This way the file components will use your custom condition.
