How to display a MessageBox or another form from WindowsService? RRS feed

  • Windows Service runs on its own desktop so you can't display forms from it. If you really want to do it you can allow service to interact with user desktop but that's a bad idea and it won't work in vista. If you need to display form, do it from an ordinary application and communicate with your service by named pipes or remoting.

Can you or someone else explain a little bit how to do that, please?
