How can I develop a shell replacement in WPF ?

    General discussion

  • Hi all,

I am interested to know if I can develop a shell replacement in WPF and C#. I have in mind to replace the taskbar and the desktop area, blocking other Windows features.

Can you give me some directions/advices ?

    Thank you.

  • Florin, Take a look at this link Essentially what's needed is to use one of the shell switchers and then create an application that you can define as a new shell. The switcher even let's you define a different shell depending on who is logging in. I haven't implemented my solution yet but I thought I'd pass that on to you. There's quite a few links from the above also. Good luck.
