Strange build agent error - exceeded time RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

When a build starts, it fails immediately with the following error:

The job running on agent xxx has exceeded the maximum execution time of 01:00:00.

This began to happen in the last days.

Every build definition is set to 60 minutes. However, the builds last only a few seconds.

    Do you have any idea??

    Thank you so much!

    Regards!

  • Hi Fede,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

Did you do any changes before this error happened?

It seems that on TFS your project references multiple files and works in parallel for longer than your default time limit. And it takes a certain amount of time to load ,build and then exceeds your time you set, so it reports a timeout error.

    > >So we recommend that you should increase Build job timeout in minutes, under settings of build definition in the VSTS dashboard.

BTW, do not forget to delete the cache files in this path:

    • C:\Users\xxx(account name)\AppData\Local\Temp
    • C:\Users\xxx(account name )\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation

    Any feedback will be expected.

    Best Regards,

    Perry
