  • Hi,

Client needs the certificate to access the WCF Service. If the client is also hosted on IIS make sure the certificate permissions are there and certificate is configured properly.

  • I have configured it and it was working correctly. After windows updates on Apr 2012, I get HTTP Error 403.7 - Forbidden: SSL client certificate is required.I also get in the event log, the following error.

When asking for client authentication, this server sends a list of trusted certificate authorities to the client. The client uses this list to choose a client certificate that is trusted by the server. Currently, this server trusts so many certificate authorities that the list has grown too long. This list has thus been truncated. The administrator of this machine should review the  certificate authorities trusted for client authentication and remove those that  do not really need to be trusted.

So I tried the hot fix microsoft suggested But I still get HTTP Error 403.7 - Forbidden: SSL client certificate is required. Please let me know what should I do fix this issue.
