IPictureDisp from GetImageMso() Quality degradetion since Version 1609 (Build 7369.2038) - Outlook 2016 & All office365 App RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Reader,

Look's like it is not possible to report a bug on connect for Office products hence I will give a shot to the community.

Since Version 1609 (Build 7369.2038) which was the last "WORKING" version not affected by this bug, Outlook, and generally speaking all other Office applications, are suffering from poor Icon Quality especially in low DPI. About at the same time that SVG made an entry in Office Applications.

This is happening in some of the ribbon extend icons and it is even worst with the IPictureDisp Image that you can retrieve with GetImageMso.

I don't know if some other members have observed this behavior?

Here I will include some export for the "AddInManager" MSO Image in several Size. I hope it will help grasping the obvious.

16x16 - Before: Image After: Image

    32x32 - Before: ImageAfter: Image

48x48 - Before: Image After: Image

64x64 - Before: Image After: Image
