Hi. I have a problem. I've installed Windows 8 and I want to play games. When I install a game it says that some .dll files (which are DirectX components) are missing. The question is which version of DirectX should I install. When I install DirectX 9.0 it says that you need .NEt 3.5 otherwise your app won't work properly. I installed DirectX 9.0 without .NET 3.5 and ran the game. But it didn't run! Am I supposed to install DirectX 9.0? or I should install other versions?
I suppose the game software should mention which version of directx it requires.
Windows 8 supports directx 11, which may be higher version that the game requires. You can detect directx version by running: dxdiag
Now that dirextx9 requires .NET 3.5, which is builtin component of Windows 8, default turned on.
