VSTS and NuGet

    Question

  • Hi,

Im new to VSTS and trying to learn how to use it.

I have a solution in Visual Studio which is linked to my GitHub Repo. Is it possible in VSTS to take the solution, package into a NuGet and push to my Octopus Deploy server for deployment.

I have installed Package Management and the Octopus Extension, but i'm struggling to find a way to have this packaged up from the Repo and push out.

Any help would be really appreciated

    Thanks

  • Hi Tommy,

First, you need to get sources from GitHub in your build definition.

Then, install Octopus Deploy Integration extension, and add task Package Application, and task Push Package(s) to Octopus in your build definition. Please refer to the link below to get how to use these tasks:

    https://octopus.com/docs/api-and-integration/tfs-vsts/using-octopus-extension

Your build definition should look like the screenshot below:

    Best regards,
