  • Question

  • Can I fully convert code from VB .net 2005 to VB .net 2013 ??

Or can direct open it at VB .net 2013 without any convert?

  • Hi Joseph,

While the various language teams work pretty hard to ensure projects can be easily upgraded/ported from earlier versions of Visual Studio, the jump to VS 2005 to VS 2013 is a pretty big one, so it'll be more of a try and see scenario. Additionally, you'll be having to target a newer version of the .NET framework, and if your project has dependencies on older libraries/assemblies you could potentially run into issues.

P.S. The Visual Studio Extensibility forum is more or less for questions pertaining to developing extensions for VS, via addin's, VsPackages, and custom project templates. You might get a clearer response posting to the VB .NET languages forum.

    Sincerely,
