MTPS Content Service Broken RRS feed

  • Question

  • The MTPS Content Service hasn't been working for at least several days.  All it does is return an exception with the message "An error has occurred while processing this request. Details have been logged and operational staff have been notified."  Any idea when it will be working again?

  • The same here. We are building an online help and the MTPS has been dead for several days. We have many work depended on this service and this is an important issue. It is putting our plan behind schedule. Someone from MS can help?

  • Hi,

Welcome to Visual Studio General forum. But your issue about MTPS Content Service is out of support range of VS General Question forum because this forum mainly discusses the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System and Visual Studio Editor.

I did some search and did not find any forums which can support MTPS Content Service issues. I suggest consulting your issue on some development forum based on the type of your app such as ASP.NET forum: http://forums.asp.net/.

If no help, it seems that other people are encountering such issue, so you can try to submit this issue to Microsoft: https://connect.microsoft.com/ Maybe Microsoft Engineer can provide you some information.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • It's a Microsoft web service.  Can't you track down who supports it and let them know?

The MSDN isn't listed as product that is taking bugs on that portal. I am also having issues with the MTPS being broken.

Can you please track down the group that supports it and alert them of the issue? Or find out an email address we can use to contact the group responsible for the MSDN services?

  • Hi,

Based on this MSDN magazine about MSDN Web Services: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc163541.aspx you can send your questions and comments to insdmsdn@microsoft.com.

    Hope it can help you.

  • No offense but an e-mail address in an almost 8 year old article doesn't sound very promising.  In any event, it's back up for the time being.

  • Hi,

Even though the magazine was published 8 years old ago, you still can try to send the issue to that email. As far as I know, there are really not any official forums to support MTPS Content Service issue. The last place which may help you is to directly contact Microsoft here: https://support.microsoft.com/ContactUs

    Thank you for your understanding.
