AD/LDAP Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to authenticate against AD or LDAP without the local machine being on a domain? We are currently running a hybrid environment as we transition from eDirectory to Active Directory. The servers are all on AD, but none of the workstations are in the domain, they are still connected to Novell.

I would prefer to authenticate against AD, but I can also authenticate against eDirectory if I need to. Is there some authentication or deployment scenario that will let me authenticate against an arbitrary source?

  • Lightswitch uses the normal asp/net security providers for the authentication under the hood. You could write some custome code to authenticate, or use forms based.

But have you tried the web application model for your lightswitch app, this way you would use the servers to control the security. - SQL Server DBA, MVP and Lightswitch Enthusiast.
