Performance testing of Documentum Webtop using Web Performance and Load Test Project RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to do performance testing of Documentum website using web performance and load test project.

The scenarios consists of UCF content transfer.

I need to know whether the UCF scenarios for content transfer can be handled through visual studio web performance testing.

For Loadrunner, there is a development kit to  handle the UCF scenarios, I need to know whether there is similar things for VisualStudio Web performance test also?

    Thanks

  • Hi Deeptarka

Out of the box Webtests can only handle HTTP & HTTPS, however, you can also load test unit tests which can handle UCF transfers.

  • Hi Deeptarka,

    Thanks for your post.

UCF (Unified Client Facilities) is the EMC Documentum framework for performing content transfer between the client and content servers over HTTP. Web Performance Test only handle HTTP. Web Performance Test and Load Test are two types of test. Web Performance Test is used to test web application and Load Test is just a shell which can let us fill our test to implement load test.

So as lan’s answer, you could use Web Performance Test to execute http request. But if you want to test content transfer, you could use Unit Test.

This blog describes web tests work at the HTTP layer:

  • Hello Fletch,

With UCF, what happens is the UCF invoker returns a UID, which is in turn fed to load runner scripts for the document transfer sessions. All I am trying to ask is, in the HTTP layer, does EMC provide such a support where the UCF can be invoked and that session can be fed so that the document transfer scenarios can run from webtest.

I do not want to use unit test, I want to generate the UCF ID through my webtest and use the same for the file transfer scenarios.

Please let me know if that is possible.

  • Hi friend,

EMC has its own forum, I recommend you post your issue there to get a more accurate answer.
