Test cases for business (acceptance test) TFS 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like  business collegues run he test plan of my web application in browser but I do not want to let them to change anything (create, edit, delet or manage anything) in the project.
    1. The testers open Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2013.
    2. They see just Test menu item.
    3. They start to ran the test cases and add tasks or bugs as they want it.

It is a big deal, or not, please?

  • Hi,

To see Test hub, you need give them Basic access level (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/vsts/security/change-access-levels) at least. But Basic access also allows you to access the Code, and Build in addition to the Home, Work, and Test hubs.

You may try to deny the Manage Test Plan and Manage Test Suite permission under Area Path for these users, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/vsts/security/permissions#nbspnbspnbsparea-path-object-level
