Hi,
These kind of issues should be resolved after sometime. These issue may occur when the particular azure region is loaded and don't have the capacity to create sandbox vms.
Can you please provide me the link where you are getting the error.
Once i have the link, I will check with the internal teams and get back to you

the security modules seem to have their sandbox functional but they're restricted from creating any resources, ex.: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/secure-azure-resources-with-rbac/4-list-access
the VM creation modules all have their sandbox down

Sorry for the inconvenience.
We have detected abuse of sandbox virtual machines which are provided to the users. Because of that, Sandbox VM provisioning is unavailable temporarily.
Product team is working on mitigating that issue. Till that time, Users wont be able to able to provision VM's.
I will share the updates here.
I dont have any ETA at this time. I will share when i get the information.

I tried this Fri-12-Jul @ 16:00 thru 18:00 BST and had the same problem. Have retried Monday 15 July @ 15:30 BST and the problem still exists. And again this morning Tue-16-July @ 10:00/BST
Does anybody else note the irony of the highly available, highly resilient cloud infrastructure which is now unavailable for training purposes for a solid 96 hours or more.

Hi tonmilx,
Sandbox VM service is intentionally stopped because users started misusing the provided resources.
Product team is working on updates to the site to prevent the abusers and still allow the users. Sandbox VMs service will be enabled once the above update to the site is applied.I will share the ETA once i have it.

Hi armin19,
Sorry for the inconvenience.
You can open a free azure account which will have free credits.
You can use the cloud shell there as well. Link here.
But you need to create the virtual machines manually there.
-
Hi jakaruna-MSFT,
We are in the same position as armin19, but don't understand how the use of shell in own tenant will work in the context of the module? It appears the completion of the module is dependent upon that sandbox activating and being used.
Is there a way that your suggestion above is used to link to our own subscription and therefore running through the content allows the module to be completed? -
Would have helped me if it accepted the same commands as in the exercise I'm trying to do :/

Was the "Core Cloud Services - Introduction to Azure" section removed from the main page entirely?
Now the next section is "Core Cloud Services - Azure architecture and service guarantees"
are any modules with sandbox just being removed now? -

Someone's done a half-assed job of cleaning up/removing the modules (rather than fixing the sandboxes). It shows as 'complete' on docs.microsoft.com but doesn't feed through to techprofile which shows as 6/8 complete. This makes it useless as the prerequisite for the competencies which need the 'trophy'.

To echo some previous posts, MS seem to have completely broken this altogether now - deliberately I assume.
Module 2 was "Core Cloud Services - Introduction to Azure" and this was where we were all having issues with the sandbox. I got as far as Unit 4/8 - Create a virtual machine which required the sandbox
Module 2 in its entirety seems to have been ripped away. Dissapointing to say the least.
It now seems to consist of the following modules:
- Cloud Concepts - Principles of cloud computing
- Core Cloud Services - Azure architecture and service guarantees
- Create an Azure account
- Core Cloud Services - Manage services with the Azure portal
- Core Cloud Services - Azure compute options
- Core Cloud Services - Azure data storage options
- Core Cloud Services - Azure networking options
- Security, responsibility and trust in Azure
- Apply and monitor infrastructure standards with Azure Policy
- Control and organize Azure resources with Azure Resource Manager
- Predict costs and optimize spending for Azure
My question... when will this be reinstated?? Or wont it? Does this mean there is no option to actually practice anything in the sandbox going forward?
Come on MS - You want people to buy your services... Not doing a great job here on the training front at least

well kids, i somehow managed to pass az-103.
already did az-900 a couple of months ago and had done all the fundamental and administrative learning paths before the sandbox blew up but i still wanted to go back and do some work in the sandbox before writing. not being able to use the sandbox for 2 weeks before the exam, with my trial credits expired more than a year ago and spending 2 days straight standing up Azure Stack SDK in my home lab just to find out you can't even invoke cloud shell on it, this was a total emotional rollercoaster. i'm relieved but i also spent weeks studying from various different training sources to make up for the lack of the sandbox availability.
guys, take your time to study, even if you have to wait for the sandbox to come back or spend a few bucks to get a real subscription if your credits have run out.
MS, i really hope you get your act together on resolving this. it's a major eyesore when people can't prep properly for your now $165 exam which expires only after 2 years...
good luck everyone.
-
Good news on passing your exam. The issue for most of us on this thread isn't our ability to study, its the prerequisite requirement of the trophy it gives as a bottleneck for other courses, which is still unresolved. Which means our competencies have expired and we lose our Gold Partner status benefits. Which is worth $200000, not $200. (and we know our Azure inside-out)
Nobody @Microsoft seems able to give any realistic update on this, or even give 2 sh**s.

As to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/host-build-agent/4-create-build-agent, something has changed. The sandbox is still unavailable, but the unit shows as completed on page open (and the unit's XP changed from 600 to 100). So now the sandbox issue doesn't affect the ability to complete an exercise and get a module and learning path trophies.

I have over 5 Learning Paths and 10 modules that are stuck and can't be completed due to these sandbox errors. How long are we to wait for this. The least they could do is just tell us approximately how long till it is resolved or if it will be at all.
Help us learn Microsoft.

Hi,
Sorry that you ran into this issue.
We’re working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible . We will announce when it's back up via Twitter(https://twitter.com/docsmsft ) and via this thread.
You may be able to complete the exercises using your own Azure subscription (you may incur
charges) or create a free account at https://aka.ms/freeazure
