MSBuild Task Fails, Exec Task Succeeds ... What Gives? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The following Task will fail for me every time:

    <MSBuild BuildInParallel="false" ContinueOnError="false" StopOnFirstFailure="false" Projects="$(SolutionPath)" Properties ="Configuration=Release;Platform=x86" ToolsVersion="$(MSBuildToolsVersion)" Targets="Clean,Build" RunEachTargetSeparately="true"

    However the following task will succeed:

    <Exec Command="$(MSBuildBinPath)\msbuild.exe $(SolutionPath) /property:Configuration=Release;Platform=x86" WorkingDirectory="$(SolutionDir)" ContinueOnError="false" />

    It's almost as if the project references break whenever I try to build using the MSBuild task :\

    Diagnostics log can be found at

    Had to link it externally as it's too long for the forums...

  • Hi Alluran,

    The log points out the processor architecture mismatch, x86, x64 or Any CPU. Please double check the setting of

      • D:\Workspaces\Public\MessageNet\Sandbox\MessageNet.Build\Build.csproj
      • Solution properties. All projects' target platform are specified here.

    Please let me know if you get some progress.
