What can I do to fix a LightSwitch HTML Client error "Request failed with status code '400' and status text 'Bad Request'." when accessing large SQL Azure data set? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a dataset with a lot of records and I think that might be why I'm getting this error.

I used a Browse Data screen template.

Maybe that's not the best template type to use.

I'd really like to be able to start with a search field, then use a Browse Data screen for the results.

I have verified that the SQL Azure data is present.

  • Hi,

You can try breaking when an exception is thrown, that may cause the debugger to break when the data access exception happened on the server. You can get more information about the data error and make sure that it's not something else.

To load data by query, you can follow this MSDN article. To ensure that no queries are executed when a parameter is not filled, you can make the parameter Required (not optional).

    Best regards,
