  • Hi,

If we build a new project using Visual Studio 2013, can we access the same project in lower version of Visual studio 2012?

As usual, you could use VS2012 to open the VS2013 project. But, if your project uses some new features of VS2013, it could not be opened normally.

If you want to open the VS2013 projects in old versions of VS, you could first use Notepad to open the solution file(.sln), then replace the “Format Version XXX” with “Format Version 12.00” (without quotes.) and change "# Visual Studio XXX" to "# Visual Studio 2012" (without quotes.). For more things, you could refer to the following similar thread.
