Visual Studio Premium with MSDN (MPN) - Your extended trial has expired. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

I cannot use my Visual Studio because i get the error: "Your extended trial has expired. License with an online account or a product key.

    • I'm logged in with my msdn account.
    • Already removed my subscription. Added again with the technical id from MPN on this site:https://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/manage/
    • Signed out and signed in again. (Even when 24/48 hours has passed).
    • I have already made a complete uninstall of visual studio. (with registry cleanup and cleanup of appdata directories)
    • A coworker signed in with his account. With his account visual studio works (80 days remaining). Singed in with my account again: Trial has expired.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Bernhard

  • Hi,

Based on your description, I think that there is anything wrong with your MSDN subscription account. But it is hard for us to confirm it because we don’t have enough information for MSDN subscription.

I recommend you to consult MSDN subscription service: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa948874 for better support if you use MSDN subscription account to register Visual Studio.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Thanks,

  • hi Bernhard

Visual Studio 2013 installation media from MSDN subscriber download page does no longer contain a product key and you need to enter it after you've installed VS2013.

Get the product key from your MSDN subscriber product key page, start Visual Studio 2013 open menu Help -> About Visual Studio and click on the product license link and enter your VS2013 product key.

  • On https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/keys/ i have following option for visual studio 2013:

    • Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 and Visual Studio Premium 2013 (MPN) - View Custom Key

When i click on "View Custom Key" i get following message:

The product key is not embedded with Visual Studio 2013. When you launch the product, you must sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your MSDN subscription and your IDE will automatically activate. By signing in, your IDE settings will sync across devices, and you can connect to online developer services. Test Professional installation instructions: MPN subscribers will need to install Test Professional using the Test Professional web installer and enter the Test Professional key when prompted in Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).
