Cannot install VSTO runtime 3.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a PC: XP SP3, Office 2007 Pro, .Net 3.5 sp1; but I can't install vstor30.exe. The installation failed at:

    Executing "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\addinutil.exe" -PipelineRoot:"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VSTA\Pipeline\." -Rebuild -Silent

    The error is:

An unhandled exception ('System.IO.FileLoadException') occurred in AddInUtil.exe [3300]

    Can anyone help?

  • Hi,

do you have administrative rights on the machine when installing the runtime?
Is there an Antivirus-Programm that may block the required installation files?

  • Yes, I do have admin privilege. I don't see folder VSTA in Microsoft shared folder though. Tried to copy it from a working PC, still failed. I guess some registry keys might be missing.

  • Hello fanyang,

As you mentioned this might have something related with VSTA, therefore, you could try to install the VSTA onto your box and try again:

    Please following the steps here:
