For a while now we have been unable to launch TWCApp.exe on a workstation. The error given is The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000135). Click OK to close the application.
We noticed that this error occurs on all .NET applications including Philips SpeechExec and a Dolby surround sound demo (bloatware)
We have researched this enough to know it is .NET related. We have done just about everything to resolve this including the following:
Removing .NET 4.0 and weather channel app in safe mode, selective startup, basic startup, etc.
Used the .NET cleanup tool located at Aaron Stebner's Weblog
Tried installing the new .NET 4.5 made available on Microsoft's site.
Scan for malware, viruses Several Registry cleanup tools Removing all other .NET applications from the computer
We're not able to get it yet and were wondering if anyone else has reported a similar issue to your group. We are at the end of our rope and are hoping for a lifeline here. Can you save us from having to reimage
windows on the computer?
