Invalid bindingconfiguration attribute. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I just added a service to my project. Why there is a warning "The 'bindingConfiguration' attribute is invalid - The value 'WSHttpBinding_IDialingService' is invalid according to its datatype 'serviceBindingConfigurationType' - The Enumeration constraint failed."

    It is default, I have done nothing. Why?

    My app.config

    <system.serviceModel>
      <bindings>
       <basicHttpBinding>
        <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_iLuCRE" />
       </basicHttpBinding>
       <wsHttpBinding>
        <binding name="WSHttpBinding_IDialingService">
         <security mode="None" />
        </binding>
       </wsHttpBinding>
      </bindings>
      <client>
       <endpoint address="http://wsvc.corporate.my.com/LuCRE/LuCRE.svc"
        binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_iLuCRE"
        contract="LuCRE.iLuCRE" name="BasicHttpBinding_iLuCRE" />
       <endpoint address="http://wsvc.corporate.my.com/International/DialingService.svc"
        binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IDialingService"
        contract="DialingService.IDialingService" name="WSHttpBinding_IDialingService" />
      </client>
     </system.serviceModel>

  • Hi,

    It seems that it is very strange, I copy it to my config file, it does not throw any error.

    If the 'bindingConfiguration' attribute is invalid in your thread, then you can just modify your config file as following to not use the bindingConfiguration as following:

     <wsHttpBinding>
        <binding>
         <security mode="None" />
        </binding>
      </wsHttpBinding>

    ..............
       <endpoint address="http://wsvc.corporate.my.com/International/DialingService.svc"
        binding="wsHttpBinding" contract="DialingService.IDialingService"
    name="WSHttpBinding_IDialingService" />

    Best Regards,

  • It suddenly disappeared. Maybe Visual Studio 2013 cache issue...
