WF4.0 with MVC? RRS feed

  • Question

  • This is a general ask but I'm exploring the possibility to integrate wf4.0 with my current mvc3 application.  I don't know much about WF4.0 let alone the integration efforts within an MVC3 driven application. That is, I don't know if wf4.0 is going buy me that much or if it's too heavy weight when I can pseudo simulate workflow with custom code (less details and requirements).

Are there any white papers or examples that show how wf4.0 can be integrated with mvc3 that will help me evaluate a possible business solution?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Hi,

in some cases WF can be a good choice, for example if you have a long running process which should be persisted some times. If you just have some simple tasks/workflows than you should think again if you want to use WF instead of simple code. The performance of WF4 has increased since version 3.5, but there are faster approaches.

For an introduction to WF4 with ASP.NET MVC have a look at this two articles:
