Fail to install Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, recently I decided to install Visual Studio 2017. The installation went well until it asked me to install VS Redistributables. The installer returned this(https://i.imgur.com/k7seTs3.png) message. After doing all I could, (deleting keys in regedit, uninstalling 2015 redists, using the "Fix It" software) I don't know what to do now.

  • Hi,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

It seems that you have a corrupted file in your package cache.  Please delete the following folder and then repair your install: (disable 3rd party anti-virus software and run installer as administrator)

    %programdata%\Microsoft\visualstudio\packages\Microsoft.VisualCpp.Redist.14,version=14.16.27024. chip=x64

If the issue persists, I need your help to collect the complete VS installation log. Please usehttp://aka.ms/vscollect to gather the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.zip under %temp% folder. Please upload the file to https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link here.

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards,

    Joyce
