I am wondering what the current best options are from F# for graphing: high quality 2D plots, 3D plots etc..
I started doing mathematical modelling in F# a couple of years ago, but gave up when I couldn't find an easy way to do 3D plots directly from F#, or to interface with Mathematica's excellent plotting capabilities.
I am wondering if there is anything currently available (free or commercial) that would do the job well. Grateful to know soon, as I am starting a new project and am deciding between F# and Mathematica: I much prefer the core language of F# but plotting
functions is essential.
Thank you. This has some useful 2D functions but not 3D. It does not plot a function from R^2->R for example. It uses the charting capabilities introduced in .NET 4, which were a good addition, but still quite basic.
