BSCMAKE: error BK1506

    Question

  • BSCMAKE: error BK1506 : cannot open file '.\Release\main.sbr': No such file or directory

    I am using visual studio 2008 professional 90 day trial.
    I am msking a dll from sourceforge src package.

    I get this error and I read online that it may be fixed by closing the browser and rebuild.
    link

    or
    "The only way to fix it is to unload and reload the project."
    link

    However, since I am a new user to c++ and visual studio. I do not know how to do these things I linked to.
    I right clicked the project and said rebuild, but the error was still there.
    I closed the home page in visual studio and tried to rebuild and the error was still there.

    I don't know what to do next?
    To begin the src dll project, I open the src package and use visual studio to open a dsw file that makes the files ready and I just have to press either debug or build.

  • You could try by turning off the browse information.

    Project -> properties -> Configuration properties -> C/C++ -> Browse Information -> Enable Browse Information -> None.

  • The following is from MSDN

    To fix by checking the following possible causes

    1. File locked by another process. If reason says Permission denied, the browser may be using the file. Close the Browse window and retry the build.

    2. A full disk.

    3. A hardware error.

    4. The specified output file has the same name as an existing subdirectory.

    If you read my error then you can see solution 1 is not it.
    solution 2 is wrong as well, since my hdd is nowhere near full.
    solution 3 is wrong as well as I have no problem with my hardware.
    solution 4 may be it though. Here is more of the error log.

    I searched my hard drive for that file and there was none.
    Your answer solved my problem though.
    Thank you :-)

  • project->properties->configuration properties->c/c++->browse information->browse information file->$(IntDir)

    This helped me in 2013 even browse information enabled.
