.NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.42 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A05E2B3) (80131506)

    Question

  • It seems that most of the individuals are either getting this error message in Visual Studio, one of the Visual Express environments, or an ASP page.  I've got a service on one customer's machine that is receiving the following two errors in his Event Log prior to a crash on said service:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: .NET Runtime
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1023
