InstallShield LE RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have recently moved from VS2015 to VS2019. Is there a replacement or alternative to InstallShield LE for our existing .isproj projects?

  • Hi Poesboi,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

AFAIK, the 2017 version does not support installshield, l recommend that you can install the extension “Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Project” in Vs 2019.

    Please follow these steps:

Choose “Tools”->”Extensions and Updates”->”Online”->search and install it

But we cannot open the .isproj projects in VS 2019 any more, if you still want to develop, please keep the VS 2015 and VS 2019 on the same computer, since they can work side by side, or consider use other plugins to develop the installer of your application, thanks for our understanding.

l hope it can help you.

    Best Regard,

  • Hi,

There is a version of InstallShield Lite for Visual Studio 2017 here :

They say it also supports Visual Studio 2019 but I don't it in VS 2019.
