Play a movie from database Directly or stream or byte[] RRS feed

  • hi, i'm developing a software that contains some movies about itself.

    i save these files in my SDF database and set password on it

    i read file content from database > Byte[] > Stream 

    but how i can play them in axwindowsmediaplayer with out save them in file.

    i don't want save in HDD because of security.

    i use .net 3.5 framework.

    please help me

    You can stream video from an internal web server using the Windows Media Format runtime.

    my problem is that i have a windows application.

    i want to read from local database and play in media player from stream.

    not web server.

  • Windows media player supports only file or url. It does not take database as input. You can't tell Microsoft to change their code to look in your specific database, that would be useless to all other users but you. 

    If you are that much against a web server then don't use Windows Media player. Write your own player using DirectShow.

    This is a common technique to load from stream in any pure component.

    streaming is the base of all libraries.

  • mmm, I don't think Windows Media Player is a streaming technology. Windows Media Format is if you use it to stream to players that supposes the mms protocol, but a player is just a player.
