Importing Test Result information into TFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have another team who in their project will be executing tests on a machine that will be disconnected from TFS.  However, they will want to get the test results back into TFS.

    Questions:

    1. Is it possible to import test results?
    2. What data needs to be gathered from the disconnected machine (I'm assuming .trx, maybe the test binaries?)
    3. Is there any documentation on an import process, if one exists?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Not2Cre8ive,

    Thanks for your post!

First, yes, it is possible to import test results into TFS. I suggest that you could use the TCM tool to achieve that.

    tcm run /publish /suiteid:5 /configid:13 /resultowner:"<Name of new owner>" /resultsfile:"c:\temp\latest.trx" /collection:<CollectionURL> /teamproject:<Team Project name>

Secondly, the test result file (.trx) is enough.

    Thirdly, please refer to:

On the other hand, there is a link may benefit you:

    Thanks
