picturebox focus issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I loop thru the controls collection to read the various
properties on each control I have dynamically placed on the screen
There is an anomaly regarding picturebox types.

The canselect = false but canfocus = true.
Yet, if I click on the PB with the mouse and read the collection, the
    "focused" attribute is false.

I can override this behavior by setting the PB.focus to true when creating it, but shouldn't it be there without this step.

Other objects, (textbox, combobox, etc) do not require me to set the focused bit before they respond correctly.

Why can I not get automatic focus on a picturebox?

The docs say a PB can have input focus so why the extra step?

    Any thoughts?

  • The program is not going to comply with your desires.  You have complete flexibility to make the PictureBox control behave anyway you want using inheritance.
