Tooltips in HTML Lightswitch Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

    The "Description" property in the Lightswitch entity and screen designers does NOT show up as a tooltip in the Add/Edit HTML client screen.  Is there another method for showing tooltips in the Lightswitch HTML client?  What purpose does the "Description" property serve in the entity and screen designers?

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Michael's tutorial is a workaround. Can anyone comment on the use of Description in a HTML client?

  • jQuery Mobile has this functionality already, please see the API section "Popup--Tooltips."

    $(element).append("<a href='#popupInfo' data-rel='popup' data-role='button' class='ui-icon-alt' data-inline='true' data-transition='pop' data-icon='info' data-iconpos='notext'>Learn more</a>");

    ...works.

  • Thanks, Allen. But I'd like to know what the Lightswitch team are doing with the Description property rather than handwriting snippets.

  • Oh I see.  You may want to add your suggestion to the "Town Hall" meeting agenda on the main forum page for the LS team to better take note of it, in case they are not seeing this individual thread.

  • The description property has been added to HTML model in VS2013.
