How to execute a batch file on different remote server using TFS Build RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using the TFS build and at step #2 in our build steps indicates that the batch script has executed and returned a pass status to TFS.  However, the batch file never executes.  We confirm this by watching the target server and via task manager.

Note: we can execute the batch script manually on the target machine without any issue (manually double click on the batch)

Is there a way to execute the batch script via TFS build on different server?

    Thanks,

  • You've posted to the VB Language forum but your issue is related to TFS and the build process.  There doesn't appear to be a TFS forum so I'll move this to VS General questions.

In the meantime, perhaps this article can help:

  • Hi tfsbeginer,

That "remote server" means TFS Build agent? If yes, you should check whether that batch file be copied to build agent during TFS Build or not.

If batch file be copied to TFS Build agent during TFS Build, but it's not be executed, you should add a custom process in your TFS build template to execute that batch file.
