Which one is the Fastest ORM avaialble for .NET app RRS feed

  • There are plenty of comparisons available online that you can google for. But the reality is that the only way to know which is fastest for you is to try them. Each ORM makes compromises in some areas to gain performance in others. It completely depends upon your data model, how you're loading data and whatnot as to which one is the fastest. For example, if you're pulling single tables then nothing is faster than ADO.NET directly. There would be no reason to use an ORM. But if are pulling lots of related tables and you're using eager loading then 1 ORM may be faster than another that is optimized for lazy loading. There simply is no good metric outside of testing this yourself.

  • Also that's like asking "What's the world's fastest car?", when you should normally ask "What's the best car for me?"
