C# application not working in Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created an application that will read a CSV file and store it to SQLServer CE database for further processing and reporting. I use Visual C# 2010 express edition on Win XP computer and Windows 7 computer. It works well on both machines. After compleating developemt, I create a setup file using Advanced Installer. Which will take care of all dependencies. It also work well on Windows 7 and Win XP machines having Visual C# 2010 and another Win XP machine doesn't have C# (In this case, the setup install .NET framework and all other prerequicites).

The problem is, the same software is giving random False errors in Windows 7 machine does not have Visual C# 2010. Friends, please help me to overcome the problem.

  • Problem solved. It's caused by Date format. I thought DateTime.ParseExact will always return value in MM/dd/yyyy format. Now problem solved.
