C++ AMP on ARM64 devices NOT WORKING (DirectCompute does)!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • While I was compiling my UWP App (which uses C++ AMP) to ARM64, I discovered that the C++ AMP code was not working right (or better, NOT working at all)

After more testing I decided to compile and run the C++ AMP "Hello World" Win32 app to ARM64. (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/nativeconcurrency/2012/03/04/hello-world-in-c-amp/)

This app fails to run correctly !!

Then I checked if DirectCompute works ok on ARM64 devices. I compiled and run BasicCompute11 (BasicCompute11 sample from here: https://github.com/walbourn/directx-sdk-samples).

DirectCompute works OK on ARM64 devices (at least with this sample

I though Visual Studio 2017 version 15.9.5 FULLY supports compiling for ARM64.

Please, what is the state of C++ AMP for ARM64? When can we expect 100% working C++AMP on ARM64?
