Site collection administrator not able to login to the site collection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
i have created a site few months ago, and everything was working fine till this Monday.
suddenly, i am not able to login to the site i created and i am the site collection administrator.
What are the possibilities that a user can be a site collection admin and not able to access the site?

We observed that there was no change from past 1 week other than a windows update. last weekend some windows updates ran, is that causing a problem? this was happend to out WSS installed server as well, something went wrong with updates.... Now we are not able to run WSS as well,

    please help me out.

    thanks

  • Praveen,

Can you access the site remotely (i.e not from the server) ? If you can access the site remotely, then it is related to one of the windows update which went out recently. This can be fixed by making the following registry change:

    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    3. Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    4. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
    5. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
    6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    7. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
Please let us know if you still have problems.
