State Machine for WF4

    Question

  • 1. Can anyone tell me when there is going to be an official release of StateMachine ActivityPack? on codeplex there is only a beta version published in aprtil.

    2. Will this release have any API for querying current State?

  • Hi udione,

StateMachine ActivityPack isn't in realised version yet :(

    Wait and see ;)

You can post a question on codeplex to have response from WF team.

  • Hi, udione

The essence of State Machine workflow is the event driven model. you can also create a State Machine workflow by FlowChart workflow with bookmark activity and Pick activity. you don't have to wait the official release of State Machine.

And, my personal experience, FlowChart is good and simple enough to get things done.

  • I don't know the "offical answer" but on End Point TV with Ron Jacobs one of the PMs, Leon Welicki says it will be in .NET 4.5.  I don't think the release of .NET 4.5 has been announced.

Again, I know nothing, but am just passing on what I heard.

  • Just wanted to update an old thread.
Current answer to 1: 'Yesterday: StateMachine is now included in .NET 4 Platform Update 1.'
Current answer to 2: 'No, there is no API for querying current State.'
