Rehosted Workflow Designer Throwing Exception Loading System.Activities.Presentation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our application uses a rehosted workflow designer and for one client throws errors like:

Type reference cannot find any type named {clr-namespace: System.Activities.Presentation; assembly=System.Activities.Presentation,Version=4.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35} Workflow Designer Color Internal

The application targets .NET 4.6 and our initial thought was the client is missing that version of .NET. However, the client claims to have .NET 4.7 installed. While checking the client's registry one interesting piece is that there is no NDP key under ".NETFramework":

My understanding is that the NDP key should be present on any machine with .NET 4.5 or higher. If that is correct could it be related to this error? If so, what would cause the NDP key to be missing?

Another difference is that the parent Key is ".NETFramework"  rather than "NET Framework Setup" like I see on our test clients.
