C# Console Application - Code ideas RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello everyone! I started to learn programming in C# by myself a few months ago (before I start learning this on high school...). I created programs like a bank account and a page which in you can order a ticket to a cinema movie.

I created a few more little programs but they are smaller so I won't get down to details. I am now stuck with no idea in my head about what program I should write. I really wanna create another cool stuff but I have no idea what to do. Can you please give me ideas? Any idea will be gratefully accepted (unless it's a program that contains classes and please pay attention that I write my programs in C# Console Application!)

  • Here learn this, which is going to give you some basics on EF.

    https://www.codeproject.com/Tips/1046655/Very-Basic-Console-Application-Using-Entity-Framew

Then you can learn this  and step up your game.

    https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/crud-operation-using-entity-framework-in-windows-form-application/

Then you can learn this by doing a program conversion of changing it from using dataset and datatable and use EF.

If you have any issues, then post back, becuase  a console program can only take you so far.

  • Create an appointment calendar were the data comes from a local sql-server database using Entity Framework with a web interface. Provide the ability to add others to your calendar which means having a contact object where the contact object is a relational model e.g. a main contact table, related tables for storing multiple contact entries eg. home, work phone, same for email etc. While doing this learn how to write unit tests.

Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help, this will help others who are looking for solutions to the same or similar problem. Contact via my Twitter (Karen Payne) or Facebook (Karen Payne) via my MSDN profile but will not answer coding question on either.
